Well, I’m not even sure if this is a blog-world trend yet, but it should be!!! Chrysta posted this Protein Bread recipe as a savory version that she used for sandwiches. Seriously, you need to look at the pics she posted now!!! The bread looks so fluffy & delightful! Its siren song finally lured me in and I shouldn’t have waited so long!!!
The only protein powder I had on hand was Optimum Nutrition Vanilla Whey, so a savory bread recipe wasn’t going to work. Instead, I went the pumpkin spices route (because, seriously, cinnamon/spice/everything nice – you get the picture!) and let me tell you … DELICIOUS!!!

Protein (Sweet) Bread
barely adapted from Protein Bread – Italian herbs
70g Optimum Nutrition Vanilla Ice Cream
50g (1/4 cup) Greek Yogurt
1 cup egg whites
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg, allspice, & ground cloves (each)
1/2 tsp vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
Mix all ingredients in a bowl. Pour into a sprayed loaf pan. Bake @ 350 for 25-30 minutes.
Total: 456 cals, 12g Carbs, 2g Fat, 89g Protein
1/8 loaf: 57 cals, 2g Carbs, 0g Fat, 11g Protein
